Fancy a play?
Once a fortnight we meet up with people from all over the Derby and Nottingham area with an interest in acting or performing or just being creative, just to get together, play, create some scenes and have a laugh.
You can be as active as you want to be, either take part or simply sit back and watch.
Our next Ram Jam is Thursday July 9th at 7:30 pm
The Friends Meeting House
St Helens Street, Derby, DE1 3GY
(Right next to BBC Radio Derby)
Come along to Ram Jam - Derby's funnily vibrant improvised theatre group.
Improvised theatre is the art of working together to create scenes and sketches, short and long stories from scratch. No scripts. No sets. No costumes. Sometimes funny, sometimes sad and mostly somewhere between the two. Real relationships, real conversations, real people. Like real life. And just as hilarious.
You don't need any experience of acting or writing. Just a willingness or need to shake off the seriousness of the everyday and play like the five year old you're meant to be. Laugh with other like minded people and find your stories in our safe, joyful, supportive space.
We move through interactive warm up games which are always fun and energetic, before going onto scene and story creation in every session. And if you don't feel like performing, no worries. We need audience too. Possibly the biggest role of all! Dip in and out as you feel comfortable. Soon enough you will be spiring around like an aeroplane or vanquishing trolls made of butter! Anything goes (and usually does!).
Fortnightly on Thursdays 7.30 - 9.30 The Meeting House, St Helen's St, Derby, DE1 3GY.
£5.00 (to cover room hire and refreshments)
It will be great to see you. You will be welcomed by the group with open arms.
